Hi Everyone, have an 89 four winns and for some reason the PO took of the decals on the side and back. I think i've found a company to replace them with but i'm not sure if it will be exact size. This being said are these stains here forever or is there some miracle product that may help.

Is that the outside of the hull?
Take a picture that shows an overall view...
Is that a gel coat finish? or a painted finish?
The squares, where it looks shiny, are they slightly raised from the surface?
What is the overall finish you are trying to achieve, match the shiny squares or the duller background?

To try and begin answering your question, if it is a gel coat finish and you are trying to make the shiny squares go away, you can sand the surface with some fine sandpaper, maybe start out with some 1200 or 1000 grit with a backing block, if that doesn't do it, keep moving down to coarser grits {800-600-so on} until you get the desired result, after they are gone you can try to match the background...

Hi GT,
i'll get another photo for you, but it is the exterior of the boat. Where the decals used to be yes is on the gel coat and raised. I want to get to the brighter white behind the darker raised parts.

I've got some fine sand paper i just wanted to make sure i wasn't going to ruin anything first, i know i can easily ruin it by sanding to much but your advice is helpful and a good place to start this weekend!

Gelcoat is thick and can take quite a bit of sanding. You should be fine
