Any special tips for putting water pump back together?

I am about to put my water pump back together after putting a new seal in it. I have already got the impeller back where it goes. I am ready to put the gasket on and the outside plate.

My questions are:
1. Do I need to put anything in between the gasket and the housing/back plate?
2. Should I put locktite on the bras bolts that hold the plate on? If so, red or blue?
3. How much should I torque the screws for the back plate to?

+1 to the above.

Is this an Alpha drive water pump, or the Bravo drive sea water pump that runs off of the engine. ?

Avoid the loktite, especially the red, you will never get the bolt out again if you use red.

Yeah...don't put any sealant on. Just the paper gasket will do.
Also, if you still have the original brass flat head screw driver bolts...change them for brass hex head bolts and put a bit of grease on the threads.
If you don't, Christ you are pretty much sure you will damage the head of the screw or you won't have enough room to get a big enough screw driver in there to undo.
