Re: any takers
I had a problem something like that once. I had put some moisture absorbing additive in my 18 gal built in fuel tank on several occasions. Blasting across the lake one day the engine started acting up and finally died.
In short, the alcohol I guess, in the additive collected a lot of water and made a goey blob that made it's way up to my engine fuel inlet connector thus clogging the fuel line. After about an hours work, floating helplessly across a very windy lake, I found the blob of goo when I removed the fuel line from the engine connector. I pumped the squeeze bulb until clean fuel was present. Put things back together and ala....problem solved.....no more moisture collection additives for me. The product was not Sta-Bil, nor Sea Foam....I use them regularly currently and have no problems.
In retrospect, my troubleshooting had gotten to the point where I suspected a fuel delivery problem and I was going to open the fuel line to pump out the line with the squeeze bulb and see if fuel was getting to the engine. By accident, my problem was right there.
