Any tips for backing a deep hull boat more easily off a short trailer?

I have a 14' cat hull skiff. The deep "V's" in the hull can at times make it difficult to reverse the boat off the trailer even when in full throttle. I can manually push the boat off the trailer, but it often involves getting my feet wet and using a lot of leverage. Any suggestions on how I make the process easier short of buying a longer trailer? The boat is already mounted as low and as far back on the trailer as safely possible.

Thanks.

Can you lengthen the trailer tongue to put the boat further in the water, probably won't take much, I know others have done that and it worked great for the.

Pics are required here, you said the boat is as far back on the trailer as it can get it and as low as you can get it. . This may not be the right set up for your boat on that trailer. I agree that bunk slicks or keel rollers might help but would like to see pics..

rollers, or boots. Don't be driving off the trailer at full throttle

I'll concur with the rollers. I've got several boats and for pleasure boating I use my 19ft cuddy cabin bayliner. It has really good rollers on the trailer. I made the mistake of trying to get too fast at unloading. I had unhooked the winch before backing down the ramp and had attached a rope from a cleat on the bow with LOTS of slack to the winch post. As I was backing down the ramp the boat rolled off the trailer

Spray the bunks with silicone spray. But,,, be sure to leave your winch strap and safety chain attached until the boat is over the water.

*DISCLAIMER- fishrdan, the mods nor Iboats will not be responsible for the boat prematurely sliding off the trailer and onto the concrete ramp, while backing down the ramp.***

Thanks for the tips everyone. Yes, the boat is already on rollers but the hull also rests on rubber fender pads as well. Lowering the fenders and adding one more set of rollers to compensate for the lost support may just be the ticket. I also like the tongue extension idea and even possibly lowering the ball a few inches. :)

If I get around to implementing the fixes in the next week or two, I'll post the results and hopefully pics too.
