Any tips on installing throttle valve after carb rebuild? (9.9)

Soaked every metal part including the copper valve plate (no-no?) and I have it back on throttle shaft but it is binding when trying to rotate to fully closed. Sprayed some PTFE in there and it helped move it a little. Don't want to force it. I've tried loosening the screws a bit and trying to move it in different positions but it just doesn't wanna close. Did I warp the plate by soaking it? I ordered a new one for only $5 in case that is what happened.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

It could be upside down or you flip it side to side and you also HAVE to loc-tite those screws in place.

It is not a wise practice, nor is it necessary, to remove the throttle plate when cleaning the carb, for exactly the reason you are experiencing. The screws holding the plate were probably staked at the factory to prevent loosening, so now loc-tite is a good idea, unless it is affected by gas or oil

Thanks guys for the input. The problem was idiot user error -- I had the valve plate angled up instead of down - notice the new orientation of the numbers. And jimmbo, I heard the same after the fact, a mistake I won't make again. But I have loctite red on them now so they're not going anywhere. (thanks flyingscott)
