here's sazzy azz, she's the new ships cat......anyone else hip to bringin their cat onboard? no sand all over, no jumpin out whilst underway, no noise(no yappin), no mice, :), no nothin other than havein yer friend along for the excursion.......

right now sazzy is learnin to become a ships cat. third time out and she's much more relaxed. i think she will get used to the different noises. right now she don't like jet fleas, or high speed pounding of a speed boat in 1-2' chop. but she is much better after three outings. the pounding didn't seem to bother her today(only 1'er's today), just slept right thru it. no fleas on the lake today, hum, guess it's after labor day....i'd have been out today, it was 71*,,,,,,,,

I really like that boat! Don't think either cat would get within 500 yards of the water.

Hey mandingo, I'll be in your neck of the woods this weekend. Indian Rocks that is.

Re: anybody else hip to the ships cat?

sounds like nobodys cat likes water. i can't imagine. :).
sazzy azz was takein to the lake when she was a young cat. we'd take her out to the lake in off season, let her follow us around and play in the fields. well, we just had to walk the beach too. so sazzy would follow. gettin her feet wet once in a while. we were doing this to prepare her for the day we could take her onboard. gettin her used to the sound of waves and water. so far it's gone fairly well really, considereing cats don't like water.....:)

i've also decided cats don't like wind much. all of mine seem to receed to somewhere where the wind ain't blowin so much....

thanks for the compliments on the boat.....i just aquired it and all it's troubles......whatever they may be.....

Our cats hate water; won't even walk thru rain water that has collected on the porch

Cute comments about your cat's agressiveness.

I really like the sliding top on that Aristo-craft and yours seems to be in perfect shape. Next door neighbor had a 17' back in '65 ish time frame.

Very pretty/functional boat. I know you get a lot of lookers on it.

Cats? Can't ya'll find a usefull pet like a DOG!?

According to Jeff Foxworthy, the sage of the south, here is a list of reasons to own a cat.
"#1. On a cold night there is a 20% chance that he will snuggle in by your feet.
#2. Dog food
Now to the list of cons."

Re: anybody else hip to the ships cat?

bjcsc, i wish she was a mainecoon. i've always wanted one of those, they are way cool cats. but alas, she is just an ol ally cat, though she does have the maincoon look. i've never had a breed of cat. guess i figure the ally cats always have a good temprement + there are way to many ferel cats in the world so i have taken a few in. though sazzy is not one of them. the last 4 prior to here were.
now as for bb comment. hum. becarefull what ya wish for, for dog food that is. my other cat is all black, w/ a blackcat attitude. and it don't like dogs and goes out of his way to attact dogs. his most notable attacts were on a male rotweiler in my yard which it jumped on twice and bit him good, (must say it didn't have much effect on the rotweiler though, other than a surprised rotweiler)and my sisters dog, a golden retriever. that fight ensued for several min. prior to getting it under control. the cat would go in, attact, and come out only to go back in again and attact, again and again. it wasn't pretty and there was plenty of dog fur in the yard too. lets just say the dog was far from haveing any dog food off my cat.
i can think of many reasons i have for not havein a dog. but to argue about dogs vs cats was not my intention of this thread, so i will not make my list. i was thinking more along the lines of a ships cat that ya read about in books. guess i've never read anything about the ships dog.... granted i don't have a ship, but i thought it'd be fun to see if anyone else took their cat onboard a very small, 19' ship(speedboat).

to each there own i'd say. i see lots of dogs on boats. no cats. had thought about the ships cat thing and thought i might try it and have planned for it by trainin her. it seems to be a unique idea for a small craft apperently....:D

The shotgun is what makes it dog food.
