It is a great place, ask any scorpian, sidewinder or lizard you see. ;)

That's the kind of company we're looking for.....if they start to bother us, we can just open up the Ruger mini 14 on 'em! :p

Re: Anybody familiar with SE Arizona? UPDATE with pics!

Well, we made a 5-day bust-butt tour of Cochise County, AZ. Rented an SUV & put about 1200 miles on it, looked at about 20 lots in all & found a real beauty! Settlement was today, so it's all ours now. 40 acres - off US 191 north of Elfrida. It is about a mile off the main drag, 20 min to town, reasonably close to a couple of golf courses, but still very isolated as you can see by the pics.

This is the entrance to the "neighborhood" off US 191 - looking east. Lot is behind the hills. Squaretop Hill is to the right.

This is Ash Creek Ridge - "neighborhood" is named for it.

Standing at the NW corner of the lot looking east. Lot goes 1/4 mile into the picture & 1/4 mile to the right.

Now at the SW corner looking east - Chiracahua Mountains in the distance.

At same spot looking south - Swisshelm Mountains in the distance.

At same spot looking north along the access road. Closest neighbor is way out there.

Should turn out to be a good investment...as one of my golf buddies says, "They aren't making any more of it." Hopefully, in about 20 yrs, we can build our retirement rancho.

stevieray,

Congratulations. That property is rugged and beautiful, at the same time.

Realize that for now, you have US property. The US government may soon give it back to Mexico. That is a debate-afoot-not heard outside of AZ, NM, So.Cal, TX.

Read your deed-CAREFULLY! Dig DEEP!

With the amount of Mexican nationals around here, you'd think we were giving BALTIMORE back to Mexico! :p

Great looking lot! Welcome to Arizona. By the way, you know Hwy 191 is known as the "Devil's Highway" It used to be Hwy 666, but they changed the number a few years back.

Stevieray. Please read Jimmy Roger's take on dirt, (I posted the thread within the last few days). If that does not make ya ponder a bit, I don't know what will. (If Rogers says he's short I really think long and hard before going long). You have a long time to save and invest for this piece o' dirt. BTW: Nevada does not have an income tax. Something ya may wish ta ponder as well, (unless ya like to pay a state income tax). I bet you will get a much better price within the next ten to fifteen years since we have a demographic peak, (the mother of 'em all) within a few years from right now. My $.02 JR
