I have been thinking about getting a golf cart to get me and the kids about around the lake and such. Anybody have one? Good or bad luck with it?

No golf cartbut a riding lawnmower....as it's only 3/4 acre lakefront ....can't golf on it thus no use for a golf cart.....did you consider a "running"[riding} lawn mower kill two birds with one stone if you have tooooo

many people who live in gated communities, have EZGO's they seem to be the most popular in the southeast. you can get the golf cart style, dump body, limo long body.

If you're going to get one, get a gas one. My parents have an ez-go at their lake home. Handy as hell, but its electric and every 5 years they are putting 500-750 dollars worth of batteries into it. They climb hills like no tomorrow but just beware of the expense of batteries.

A riding lawnmower convert it ...cuts grass on Saturday ...shuttles lazy people the rest of the time

I'd recommend a quad or polaris ranger style atv. They can launch a small boat with ease and are way more fun than a golf cart.:D

We don't have any lake property, but do have a lot of "yard" to cover. We have a 2003 Club Car. It has been trouble free.

i used to have a camper up north in a campground. we went up every weekend 4 wheeling. anyway up there we had an old 3 wheel HD golf cart. gas operated. was very useful to have around. 90% of the seasonals up there had them.
you can score a very nice rebuilt one around here for 3 grand or so.

Here at LOTO there are a ton of them. From local sales availability either Club Car or EZGO.

The people with the $$$$ use them to go from their house high on the hill to the cruiser dock. Makes it a lot easier if ya forgot the champagne. 'Course then, some folks across the cove in the trailer park, also use them to get from the upper tiers to the docks. Amazing the number of 24 packs that they can carry. :D

About the same amount of battery to gas. At least it seems so,

My neighbors at the lake have them and it's seems pretty useful.
You can actually get one for free from the U.S. Government.

We have a 2009 club car with a rear seat. I wonder if I can redo my taxes and get a credit too? :D

It is a great little cart. I would recommend it to anyone. We paid about 5 grand for it if I remember.

Looking into getting a gas model. Probably will pick one up in the next few weeks. Been looking on Craigslist and Ebay.

Just picked up a Gas Yamaha 2000 model year off of Ebay for $1300 bucks. Runs good and will be a good asset for taking gear to the water without having to carry it, along with hauling my lazy butt.

I saw a golf cart wrecking yard out behind an RV park in AZ the other day. I guess old carts have to go somewhere :D

i have a older 3 wheel harley davidson. paid 500 for it. ran a year and rebuilt the motor and carb. runs like new and am currently in the process of body working it and new paint job. i dont know about the other ones but the harleys seem to hold thier value pretty good. i use it up north all the time for trips to the pontoon, which is about a mile from cottage. the only thing is it seems to always stop at those neon signs along the way

Two Electric Club Cars. Both converted with folding rear facing seats and/or load bed.

Very handy.
