Anybody have this ladder

I just purchased this ladder and I currently have it c-clamped to the bottom of the boat. I am concerned that there is nothing holding the ladder in. Does it just fall out when you stop? I know there's pegs on it to keep it from coming completely out. What are people doing about this and how happy are you with the ladder?

The ones I've seen have a 'rubber band' (for lack of a better word). You can get those velcro straps and it should work just as well.

I have this ladder installed on my pontoon and we love it. It's very sturdy and solid. The ladder sits down in the frame and doesn't slide out "on its own", yet it can be extended or retracted with one hand. Very nice design. You won't be dissappointed.

**The only complaint I have ever heard about these ladders are from the people who forgot to put them up before going in to the shore. I installed a small flag like from a mailbox on my front rail. When the ladder is down, the flag goes up, that way when we start to get underway, I can see the flag and know if the ladder is up or down**

Same here! they work great... kids love them, I need one for the side door. Slide'm in and they don't come out unless you pull them out.

Love ours. I'm sure it wouldn't deploy by itself, BUT since I can't see it from the deck I have a Velcro strap to 'make sure'. Also use a short piece of rope tied to the last rung so I can pull it up from the deck .... I'm old!

does it hold a good ammount of weight... we need a new ladder and the one we have been using takes up so much underseat space.
im a big guy about 300lbs...will it last or at least hold my weight... it says its rated to 300lbs but.....

any heavy people out there using this?

I have a similar one that came with my toon. It has a strap with a snap to hold it tight when on the move, but still holds in place without the strap. As to using it, I rarely use it. It's too far underneath to my liking. the fold down one at the rear is much easier to use.
