Anybody know the length of a bolt ‘96 E/J 130

The bolt that is obstructed by the trim tab when removing the lower unit is what I need to know the size of. When I took mine apart it was not there which may explain the excessive amount of water coming out. Sorry I forgot to take a pic but you know which one I’m talking about.

Sometimes a parts site like crowley marine will list the length of the bolt in their parts diagram.

Measure the hole in the lower unit.------Example----If it is 3" then you need a bolt 3.75 long.

Measuring will be my final option if nobody knows off the top of their heads. And Chris I already checked Crowley's site and it just says "Bolt"...then a part # and then the $24.00 price tag, lol. The manual says it's a 9/16th, so I know the diameter at least. I'll get there if noone weighs in with a magic number. Thanks guys.

I doubt it is a 9/16" bolt !!-----9/16" socket used to take it out perhaps.

No, that's what I meant. The socket size. Which doesn't help me much at all lengthwise. What I don't want to have to do, is put the lower unit back on and then trial and error the correct bolt size, if you know what I mean. That sucker's heavy, and I'm getting too old, lol.

Oh, and in case anyone is thinking it, I checked to make sure there wasn't a bolt broke off in there first.

What is the part number? It isn't a 9/16" diameter. That's the socket size for the bolt head.

Hint - See if the anode/trim tab bolt fits the missing bolt hole.

Yeah I cleared that part up. I was basically just saying the Factory manual was no help on size.

From the Crowley Marine exploded diagram, the part number for that bolt is; 0331998

And according to that same exploded diagram, the Anode screw is an entirely different part number. And quite a bit less expensive I might add, lol.

Just go to your local hardware store and buy the stainless bolt for about $3.00 or so.
