Response to moderator's edit: That wasn't fair! I was not "buying or selling", I was asking a question if anyone here knows what a "Mercury 2,7 EFI" is. (...and after 700 postings on this forum, I know the rules of conduct here...)

The reason for the question is that I have a potential buyer to a prop over here (in NORWAY!) that asked if my prop would fit his engine of said type, which I have never heard of, nor can I find any references to it anywhere.

So, I repeat, I am not trying to sell a prop on here, but does anyone know what a "Mercury 2,7 EFI" is? Inboard, outboard, old, new? If you know of the engine, could you please enlighten me on the type and approximate year and horsepower so I can find out which FloTorq hubkit would fit on it?

Couldn't you contact the buyer for some details.I assume it is an I/O of some sort.Mercruiser?I'm guessing perhaps the 4 cylinder 120/130hp.Even if you could get the the displacement in cu.in. Maybe a spec. plate on the motor,
maybe some numbers off his present prop.

Displacement: 2.7 liters = 164.764109 cubic inches

Well, I wrote the guy back and asked for more details, but never heard back from him. So, he's probably not a potential buyer anymore but I was intrigued that I didn't know of the engine in question.

At another forum, it was suggested that this might be a two-stroke outboard (not Optimax) of approx 200 HP. I have no clue....

The Verado is 2.6 liter (2598 cc) and the 2.5 liter V6 is 2507 cc. Could it be your contact is not such a good typer or has trouble with the metric system -- yes I know he's from Norway? I/O's were 2.3, 2.5 and 3.0 liter in the four bangers.

Don't know about a 2.7 but.....

I stayed at a Holiday Inn last night(joke)

Mec made three hub/gearcase sizes to match the three prop sizes

If I remember right

small o/b about 3 1/2 inch dia

mid range o/b about 3 3/4

V-6 o/b, alpha, bravo one about 4 1/4

I could easily be wrong on the #'s but I'm close

A 2.7 is either a V6 or an I/O, both use the same prop
