I just bought a 1976 Steury Cuddy cabin and with a family and a fulltime plus job Its going to be a longterm restoration project. She is 18' long and is currently underpowered by a 85hp Johnson Seahorse that I have yet to start. Will have a lot of questions and hopefully as I learn i will be able to provide some answers or at least some pitfalls others should avoid.

My first boat was (we think) a '63 Steury runabout 14 footer. Grandfather bought her after I passed my first USPS course. I was 11. We spent two years rebuilding her. It was a great boat for running around the upper Chesapeake for a bunch of teenagers. I really miss it.

I have a 16' Steury bowrider with a 60 HP Johnson, I think its a 1975. This is the best riding 16' boat I've been in. It is a little tippy when your not moving due to the relatively deep V (deepest I've seen on a 16'). I was going to rebuild it, it definately needs a new floor and some paint, but then I bought a Mint! 1975 18' Starcraft Holiday with a 1994 70Hp Johnson for $1200! I guess the Steury's gotta go in the spring, I'm gonna miss it.

First boat was a 1977 Steury 17' open boat with a Johnson 115. Was a very nice boat. Well made never had a issues with the boat. Outboard would drink gas like it was going out of style.

I have a 1975 18ft Steury Cabin cruiser. I keep it on great South Bay on long Island NY. In 1979 I flagged down a guy driving this boat and asked him if he was interested in selling it. The boat was 4 Years old. A couple of months later I bought the boat motor and trailer for $4200. That was 30 years ago this year. She has a 1984 115 VRO Evinrude that has been upgraded with 20 over Evinrude pistons and set up for ethanol fuel. My daughter was 8 months old when she was first on board, my son was 3 months old. They are 28 and 24 years old now. She is in the family to stay.

That's very cool to hear, I would love to know why you have held onto it for so long? I think it is the same hull as my steury, you should post some pics. Thanks for the story.

Great pics, keep them coming with the progress. I think that hull is the smoothest riding hull its size.

I have a 1972 Steury. Parents got it for my birthday in april 2007. Been working on it since then. With help from my dad, grandpa, brothers rik and tim, I got it running like a champ. This is my first boat and I plan on taking care of it for a long time. I have pictures of her on another thread "My 1972 Steury". I can't wait til memorial day! (open cabin)

I have a 1975 Steury 180-x with a 1987 evinrude 150 vro with 20 over pistons, just finishing up the restoration. Three years in progress. and countless dollars. had to replace the whole transom, floor, windshield. not very easy to find parts for. but its turning out really nice.

1974 Steury 18' cuddy cabin with a 1998 Johnson 112HP OB. Love this great little boat!! My dad & me bought this boat from a cool old guy who purchased it new. He kept it trailored in a heated garage and it looked brand NEW!! We've owned it now for 8 years and its still in amazing cond. if anyone is interested we are ready to let her go..send me an email for alot of pic's. You wont believe how good this old girl looks!!!

1976 Steury Bowrider (tri-hull), just got it last Sunday, 1976 50 hp merc. Hoping to get it on the water this weekend, has some wiring issues I am working through, PO cut out the ignition switch, so have to install a kill, mount some of the other switches, and make sure she is charging, etc. This winter I will put it back together right, but for now, only a couple months left of boating weather here in Reno, I want to get her on the water and see what she will do.

I have a 1975 T523HB houseboat, with a 180 HP 302 Mercury I/O. It will go a little over 20 mph, according to the Garmin GPS.

My family has a steury to we love it! we have a 77" Johnson 115 on it. The boat is terrific
