Anybody tell me what my rubbing sound is when I shut the boat off?

I have like a scraping sound I hear when I shut the boat off as the drive is slowing down. I am new to boating, so is this normal? Kind of sounds like when you have the trim tilted a little to high and have it in gear but in this case the I/O is all the way down and the prop is coming to a stop.

Bearings?

Only thing I can think of, when everything is quiet and coming to a stop, what is left.

put it in neutral and spin the prop by hand and see if you can track it down.

That's the sound of the outdrive sucking all available cash from your wallet. Most people will hear it sooner or later. Good ear!! ;)

Sooner no doubt......outdrives are the "very" weak link in the engine/drive scheme of things.

Did you shut it off while it was still in gear? If so, that is normal clicking, but you shouldn't do that. Put it in neutral before shut-off. Otherwise, u-joints or gimble bearing would be my guess.

I'm glad my ongoing problems can bring everybody laughter!!! just kiidding. I shut it off with it I thought in neutral. For some reason it wasn't and now my boat is in gear and my throttle control button is pushed in. It left me dead in the water. Both are stuck. What should I do first. The prop doesn't spin counter clockwise and my throttle moves forward easy because the button is stuck in. I tried to take the throttle control apart but the bolts are turning instead of coming out. I need to get this fixed ASAP.
