Really? You have studied both extensively and have determined 2-strokes are now at their pinacle technologically and will have no more developments?

Once they are forced to the 4 strokes can get ALOT cleaner by moving to a closed loop system with oxygen sensor that constantly adjust the fuel ratio.

They'll try catalytic converters first, which will add weight, cost, and complexity to the outboard.

Going to a closed-loop system will be MORE costly, and they won't go that route unless costs and complexity can be reduced. And it will likely be a long time before that happens.

I think this thread was started on what's presently out there, rather than pie-in-the-sky predictions.
