Crazy Christmas for sure. Traveled all day yesterday, starting about 12:30 am to Austin Texas. Chillin' with my soldier son and his fiance in a hotel room on Fort Hood. Brought a mounted rock to him so he could propose last night. Went out to eat today early afternoon. Just had a heckofa time finding cold cuts and crackers to survive till breakfast. Watching National Treasure movies in the hotel room together.

Yep, Chill'n. On this night like many other eve nights our family sit around on the floor building GingerBread houses. Our Sons, Daughters-in-laws and Grand Babies. We have a ball, now to keep the Grand kids from destroying what took Glasses of wine and Beer to create!
Merry Xmas everyone and God Bless!

Re: Anyone else just chillin at home toniight?

All ready now. Just finished my Christmas family poem that I write in Mrs Ken's card each year. She has kept every one since we were first together way back when. I write it about our family and any and all highlights of the year good or bad. The boat is always mentioned as are the 2 dogs and the cat.
Tomorrow I will be up early to start on the Christmas dinner. I cook every year. Then any of the children and their significant others that are not already here will arrive mid morning and the gift exchange will commence. (hope I get a red Ferrari) around 2 p.m. the rest of the Canada residing family will arrive for dinner. Mrs Ken's brothers (twins) (Laurel and Hardy) will be here for their annual visit. I will be half way down my bottle of sherry that I have when preparing the Christmas dinner and shortly after we will sit down and eat. After that we will all sit and converse followed by a trip to our basement "pub" and some karaoke. Just a shame that my sister and her husband, niece and my parents could not make it this year.
Yep, disorganized chaos at our place tomorrow and we will love every second of it.
Wishing each and every iboater a wonderful and happy Christmas from all the Kenmyfamily. :D:D

Went to my folk's yesterday. My brother and ALL his family was there too. It's been a few years since that happened. Had a great time.

Today it's just the wife, kid and me. That's what we're going to do, chill. Sit around in our jammies, maybe all day. Open gifts from the wifes family, who are in MI. Of course, there's stockings too. Cooking up shrimp for dinner. Sometime during the day we're going to watch A Christmas Story. The wife may try out her new snowshoes. The kid may ride her snowmobile around the yard. Classes start next week for her permit. And dad will watch it all unfold from the warmth of the house.......:)

Merry Christmas everyone...........

Not a big family here...all the wifes relatives are in Canada. Only my brother, son and daughter. No grand kids..:(

We'll be having some neighbors and close friends along with the kids tomorrow. plan on deep frying a turkey and baking a glazed spiral cut ham.

Canadians eat LOTS of veggies with their turkey, both at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Plan on having turnips, carrots, potatoes, giblet dressing and giblet gravy (gotta have a little Southern twang in there someplace!), mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, fresh string beans cooked in bacon fat and lots of desserts.

Gonna be laid back and casual. Temps will be hitting low 70's.

Going fishin next Monday to the middlegrounds..110 miles out!..

To one and all...Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

sounds great!!!

Uhhh... Rick, have you checked the weather forecast lately? There are gale AND freeze warnings out for our area for tonight and tomorrow! The low temp on Monday morning is supposed to be 23 degrees and WINDY!

Might not be a safe passage for ya!

7 AM to 7 PM shift - have to work it.

But I'm right at the water's edge and watching the few boats go out or by. Most of them have one guy in them heading out to fish... all of them have far fewer people than are normally in the same sized boats on any other day.

Peaceful and quiet.

Merry Christmas to you all and yours.

Re: Anyone else just chillin at home toniight?

I may be a little late on this one, but I'm working tonight... 7p-7a. No transports so far, so I'm just hangin' in the ER helpin' out when needed. Was supposed to work last night (Christmas Eve) too; but a really great team member took call for me so I could spend Christmas Eve with my family. Christmas was very nice this year. I had wanted to decorate the boat with Christmas lights and suprise my children with a Christmas Eve cruise, but we ended up working non-stop, all night in preparation for the family Christmas Eve get together. I found myself starting to fall asleep a few times in the early evening... The beer throughout the night and into the day may have had something to do with that:rolleyes:... So no, I'm (unfortunately) not chillin' at home tonight... I'm Chillin at work;).

Hope all had a nice evening! I had dinner at one of my oldest buddys house, with his awesome/hilarious/great cook wife and her son, a 90 sec drive, good beer, a glass of wine, prime rib, trimmings and two deserts! Was great!
