Anyone ever seen a Lund like this?

Just wondering if anyone had seen a big Lund like this. The guy I bought it from (3rd owner) said it was custom built by Lund for a Los Alamos scientist. All I know is it is a 1960 with a Volvo-Penta I/O, 19ft length 7ft beam. It used to have a wood cabin. I picked it up for cheap (probably less than the scrap value + trailer) but the engine runs really well so I'm planning on rebuilding the cabin and running it for a while.
I checked out some old Lund catalogs but they didn't have anything nearly this big in 1960.
Just wondering if anyone's seen anything like it before. Also any suggestions on the cabin style? IMG_20130731_142324.jpgIMG_20130731_135658.jpgIMG_20130731_142411.jpgIMG_20130731_142341.jpgIMG_20130731_142424.jpg

Funky. I've never seen anything quite lite it. I was going to say it was a DIY project, but perhaps it is a factory one-off of some sort. I'm curious to see what you learn. Perhaps the Lund site has some info too.

Whoa! Cool boat. Have nothing to help you out, but I'm with KFA - interested in what you find.

Welcome aboard.

Yeah, I'd yank the I/O, weld a patch in the transom and bolt on an outboard. I'm guessing they would've wanted I/O for more hp. OMC outboards of that era only came in sizes of up to about 100hp, so if you needed anything more than that you'd probably have to go the I/O route, but who knows. Keep us posted.

I looked for a serial # but other than those on the engine there aren't any that I could find.
Anyways I was just curious.
I dont like the I/O that much either but its what I got for now. Biding mjy time until it dies and/or I find a cheap outboard
What hp would you recommend?

Idk but I think an old Johnnyrude 140 hp would power that boat really really well.

Look HERE at the '68 aluminum catalog. Not quite, but close to what you have.

I dunno' about converting to OB. Probably easier with the aluminum, but I would also think swapping out to a Mercruiser might be equally easy.
