Anyone familiar??

While attempting to load my boat (190 Searay) it would look good until it got 3/4 the way out of the water then my right bunk would completely turn and straighten up throwing the boat to the side. So I put the boat back in, put the bunk where it should be and tightened it. It appeared tight by hand, however the boat did the same thing?? Thinking maybe a couple of washers at the end of the bolt to tighten up on the trailer flange??? Anyone ran into this, or have any suggestions???

This is a picture of the front, the rears are a little different but same concept. It is a pretty high grade bolt so I torqued them pretty good (or so I thought).

You are bending the brackets. Remove the bolt, cut a piece of pipe the length that will fit over the bolt but between the brackets. Now tighten it.

I will give that a shot, sure seems if that is the answer it would've like that originally?

Rarely does the right thing and what the o/m actually do line up. Typically they do whatever is cheaper and they think will get by.

I am thinking that one of the hull strakes is landing on the bunk or right up close to it while you load. Then as the boat settles in as you winch it up, the strake is flipping the bunk.

Best to check the clearances between the bunks and the strakes.

Silvertip nailed it. There's a clear gap between inner and outer plates that needs to be spaced out.

Yeah, the pipe will work, but the brackets will have to be straightened first, thenmeasure the opening for the pipe.. I wonder if the brackets need to be turned around so that they can't swivel.

The trailer wasn't adjusted properly by the dealer in the first place. (they rarely are)

The strakes hit the bunks causing them to shift. The original owner tightened them to fix the problem, causing the brackets to bend.

Fix the bent brackets, Do the pipe thing so they are tight, then move the bunks just outside of the strakes.
