Anyone for help

I need a new boot for my 1969 Evinrude Sportsman 120. Att. is a picture of my boat.I need a round one part#308456 I found one at iboat #18-2767.Can I put this one on and cut the access off

Get the proper one, there is no need to cut the "extra" off.
the correct boot will have no excess to cut.
