Hey Ya'll I took my boat out today and i had a 14x21 pitch prop on and the rpms were about 5000 or little more and speed was 37 and that was WOT. The prop was also making a weaird racket noise and my grilfriend drove it and i looked at the prop and it was shanking bad to me and it did not do that when i had a 19 on there i was woundering if the 21 was too much for it or is that too small. could i use a 4 blade on my prop or does it have too be 3?

Well first we need to know the boat size, make/model, motor make year and hp..Would be good to know the specs with the 19.I'm a little mystified how you would watch the prop?It would seem the prop is probably defective.A 4 blade is typically. used to improve low end performance or to push a very heavy boat or pontoon. What are you trying to accomplish?

If the prop is out of balance I would want to have a look inside "torpedo" ( part of the drive where the prop fits into on the shaft ) and see if its not all scrapped up if the prop was runbbing it.

It could possibly damage the drives 's case or my other concern would be bending or warping the prop shaft its self! That could lead to ruining the prop shaft seal(s)
