OK, I have launched this boat dozens of times, It is not that I can't do it I am just looking for a way to do it better/faster. Yes I know that I can walk in the water, back it in farther, not as far, Get my kid to do it, etc - I do not like getting in my truck wet and I am trying to avoid holding up a lane at the ramp while I put hip boots on.

And I pretty much do it by myself as I am the driver of both the boat & truck/trailer.

If anyone has used that captain hook and has any feedback I would be interested.

i dont think you will have any problem with the cap hook other than you will have to pratice a little as clipping a small target can be harder than what it seems until you get use to it.

Seems like putting a towel down on the truck's floor would save the truck for any damage a couple of wet feet could cause. But to each his own and the hook thing trying to grab ahold of a smallish, possibly moving, target like the bow eye may not be too bad to get used to.

Just like to keep it simple at the ramp and make it as fast as possible. For me, wading mid calf deep and manually attaching is fast and positive and a no-brainer on my 25 1/2 footer that I launch / retrieve on every use and I can haul boat in less than 2 minutes, and yes, I launch solo everytime, as the Admiral is pretty clueless on this stuff and always will be (nuff said on that). The 4 deer cheap towel trick absorbs every bit of water off my feet / flip flops before it gets to truck carpet.

Seems as though most of the folks that tie up the ramps are the ones that don't want to get thier tooties wet. You Tube is full of those videos. See "Ramp Folleys"....
