Anyone have any problems with new 2011 post VEC Glastron

Glastron has always been considered a good boat and that's why I bought one. The 2011 I purchased this July is a great looking boat, rides like a luxury car and moves right along with a 115 Yamaha. This is the first year of new ownership since Genmar and the first year of Non-VEC construction since whenever that started. I'm wondering what others think of the new boats regarding quality. Two days ago when I was cleaning the boat I found a few screws coming through the hull which looks like it happened during manufacturing. I took It to the dealer and it will be repaired. Probably first year bugs need to be worked out and not a big deal since it's covered by warranty. I'm wondering if I was just unlucky or if others have had any problems with the new 2011 models. Maybe I'll have time for one more ride in October if the repairs are done by then and unhappily no more ride till next May.

Heh.... let me give you a run down of my list on my 2010

1) Hull needed to be wet-sanded to remove mold voids
2) Rear bench seat replaced due to seams separating
3) Sundeck walk through attachment screws pulled through the pivoting portion
4) Power steering cylinder failure
5) Wakeboard tower was improperly installed and caused spider cracking
6) Power steering cylinder failure #2 ( 2 months later)
7) Driver dash column has crack forming around mounting screw
8) Both factory speakers blew

Multiple screws have been loose, I am having the last of all the issues fixed on them through warranty and selling the boat.

Wow, that sucks threemile I know you were really stoked to get that thing. Guess I'll stay away from the newer Glastron's. Hope you have better luck with the next one.

Mine is a 2010 gt 215 with a 5.0vp GXiC and with the exception of a few cosmetic fiberglass stars and a swim platform that wasn't installed level, our boat has been awesome...We usually have 5 kids and 2 adults on it and get the spilled drinks and usual stuff, but nothing has broken or fallen apart in the year we have had it...

I would definitely buy Glastron again(I just hope I don't have to)...

Yes. My 2011 GT205 has issues with the sunpad. It's out of alignment. The dealer claims he can't fix it. Overall the boat has been good.
