Anyone have pic of original 1954 Goodyear seabee 5hp?

I have decided that since my little ancient Goodyear Seabee 5 hp has worked admirably as my kicker, it has earned a cosmetic resto. It is currently black (obviously spray paint) with parts of it being blue. Anyone know what they actually looked like originally? I have searched and found no pics. If I can't find a decent pic, I will be repainting it the same OEM black as my 1969 Merc 1250 which will also be recieving a cosmetic resto this fall. Thanx in advance...

Jason,<br />Go to the Ask A Member board at www.aomci.org and post your request. A fellow named Garry, who posts there frequently, probably has one or more pix of this motor to share. Have fun, resto is a gas. Just finished a 46 E-rude Ranger.

Thanx, I posted on the Ask a member section. If all else fails, it will become black. I have an old Wizard 10 horse I cosmetically resto-ed and have it on a welded steel stand in my office, it is pretty cool...

I have seen those, but it's been awhile. Keeping checking the Ask A Member board...Garry will check in as soon as Frances peters out. The ones I have seen had a silver leg with blue or green tank and lower cowls, and sometimes a yellow recoil. There are many variations. Sweet running little motors.

I recieved a response with pics, you are right. The tank/cowls are blue and silver, and the recoil housing is blue. The leg is silver, and the lettering is yellow. I'll just have the lettering made by my local vinyl graphics shop. It does run really well, for an ancient motor. It has proven to be quite reliable. Not bad for a motor that was given to me and had sat in a shed for years.....

Get some gasket material from an auto parts store and cut what you need to replace the old worn out/missing gaskets.
