Originally posted by JasonJ:
I have an ancient huge Simplicity that runs like a Harley and can clear a sidewalk in one pass. I havn't had to use it until this year because I plowed snow in the winter and would hook my driveway up. Now that I no longer do that, I had to dust off the snowblower. Big beastly thing but it gets the job done.
Yeah I love those beasts....so loud, but so powerful.

Only problem with mine is when I forget where the sidewalk/ driveway is and start tearing up grass and dirt. Really messes up the pristine look of the white snow when i do that

I've got a Honda that's about 12-13 years old. Pa bought it for us (me) as a house warming gift. I use it whenever we get more than about 4-5" of the white stuff. Anything less I usually shovel. My driveway is not huge, and I enjoy the workout.

I have the finest snowblower known to man. My neighbor Mik. He gets up before me, is highly motivated and works for brandy.

Ahrens snow blowers are made in Brillon WI. Solid unit.

Hey RustyL, I have the exact same model, except a few years older. To this day, the sucker runs great and throws snow like you wouldn't believe. You'll be very pleased, I am sure of it.

Sean

What's a snow blower? Got a lawn mower, edger, and leaf/grass blower I have to use year round. The blower also works good to blow debris from pool deck or sand from curb.

I've got an Ariens 2-stage, don't know the horsepower, it's so old all the writing is gone. But it still runs like a nose and throws snow any where from 2 feet to 2 miles depending on the wind.

I had one for eight years. I loved the day I bought it and loved, even more, the day I sold it.

I bought it in 1991 on my way home to Minneapolis, from Fargo.

It was snowing with a prediction of 10+ inches-on Halloween. Turned out to be 29".

I burned 5 gallons of gas, in that unit, in two days. Not bad for an 8 HP. Tecumseh-eh? In other words, I broke it in-HARD!

It served me well until 1998 when I moved to AZ. :p :D :D

Re: anyone here have a snowblower?

I have an old Toro 4hp 21" two stage snow thrower. I think its a 1980 or 82. Came with a house I bought in '86. Found it needed maintenance, like belts, carb, adjustments, and a few missing bolts. It still runs great, and although I wish it was a little wider, it throws dry snow 20+ feet and wet heavy snow 6 to 8 feet. Saves my back every time.

Someday I'll buy a new one. But I need this one to break bad enough to not warrent repairs.

Re: anyone here have a snowblower?

treedancer-
I just fully restored a Ford 8N. I don't use it for plowing, as its pretty much to show standards now. It gets lite use at the cabin. I have an 8 HP Ariens for that.
