Hey NOSLEEP
Mapquest and others are great for getting from point A to B but CA (and I have lived there) is a whole new story. Trust the locals like MudIsFun/Kevin for directions. The right freeway by mapquest can be the worst place at 6am in real life. BTDT! :)
Luck to ya
Doesn't sound like your going to have the time but if you do. There isn't anything better than driving up Hwy 101 through the Redwood forrest on the way back!

Don't always go by miles. This summer I took I15 to Montana and came 6 miles from Canada on the way back I took I5 from Washington. I think the 115 was much shorter a drive. I am not sure where you're starting off at. The 99 to the 55 is a much longer (I've done it) route. Mucho traffico too.

Helloooo.. Link
MudIsFun gave some great local information, I will be
using it. Thanks to everyone for the helpful
information. I sure would like to have more time
and take in some of these great places, But I will
have to make the best of the time table I have.
I will try and stay awake for the whole trip. :D

Re: Anyone in Long Beach CA.

I made it back home Monday at 2 in the afternoon
I didn't leave until Friday at midnight and it
took my partner and I just 24 hrs to arrive in
Long Beach. When we left Calgary it was -24 cel
and Sunday it was + 21 at 8 oclock in the morning
at the Marina.
The boat was everything I hoped it would be. It
was in excellent condition as well as the trailer.
Bill Maahs my broker at Long Beach Yacht Sales
called this boat well. I would not hesitate to
use his service again.
Thanks everyone for the help and logistics. I cant
wait to get this floater in the water. But it looks
like I'll be Ice Fishing this weekend.
:)

Ya Quietcat it was quite the eye opener for a
guy from the the sticks. They had palm trees and
girls in shorts, and more boats than a guy could
see in a life time. I would like to go back and
spend some relax time. Las Vegas looked from the
truck window to be a great place to get into trouble. :D

Glad you made it back safely! Smart to stay in the truck through LV. You did miss some storm! Drilled the ice on the lake today 10 - 12" but didn't have time to drop a hook.

It was a great trip Hang'n In. I sure ran into
a storm at the Coutts crossing. When I went into
the customs office at 12:00 noon it was only cold.
3O minutes later I couldn't see across the road.
And the whiteout was all the way to High River.
So the ice is 10 to 12 inches already, that was
quick. I plan to go to Badger on Sunday hoping for
a big early winter Pike.
