I'm looking at buying a Slick Craft runabout for a project. Owner does not what year it is. Is the hull ID number a indication of the year manufactured?
Apears to be in nice shape, trailer, no motor, cheap.

The link below will help you decode the HIN, assuming there is one and determine the year. If the boat was built before 01NOV1972, it may have an ID number/serial number that only has meaning to the manufacturer. The question I have is, if the current owner does not know the year, how does he register the boat? If it is not currently registered, even in a non-title state, you may have difficulty registering it as the new owner. Good luck!
