Anyone know the Proper WOT rpms for a 1984 Evinrude 50hp

Recently bought a 1984 Evinrude 50 hp outboard that needed work... Well I brought it back to life with a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and swearing!!!! Lol, now she is purring like a kitten, I was just wondering what the recomended maximum rpms should be at wide open throttle??

my '97 johnson 50 = 4500 to 5500 depending how you're propped. I'd GUESS about the same. prop it to 5000. try 11 3/4 x 19. Do you have owner's manual ? that'll tell ya.

Yeah I was thinking right around 5000 or so myself, dont have an owners manual but I am going to try and find one on the inet.

on my manual, it says 4500-5500, but it also says 50h.p. @ 5000r.p.m. On my 17' Sundance(carolina skiff) I rev about 5500 w/11 x 3/4 S.S. wheel. according to my FF, i get 31m.p.h. in 18" of water planed off. whatever boat you have, you'll have to switch different pitches to get ideal rev.s. depends on wt. of boat.
