sqbtr
You could add collar ties about a foot or so above the vehicles it would add some strength and might offer some light storage.

I don't think a fabric building will work with the snow you may get. Here in central NY a neighbor had one about 1/4 the size you want
used to store many bicycles it collapsed the first winter. Not to mention what could happen in a big wind.
A pole barn with a steel roof and a 12/8 pitch 8" rise in a 12" run.will shedd snow. Trusses not necessary just rafters, collar ties at the juncture of wall ad roof.and properly braced legs set in the ground. 2X3 or 2X4 perlins on 24" centers. rafters on 3' centers?
Good strong tarp walls. I have a 24 X 32 ft garage/barn based on that basic roof, rafters on 24" centers (code) with normally framed walls on a pad with 1/2"cdx board and batten siding.Storage on 2nd floor.Of course you may have to check your local codes.
Has always shedd the snow here in central NY.You do have to be aware to avoid where snow might land.

I live in the Yukon Canada we get lots of snow and there are lots of those portable garages around (shelter logic) and they seam to stand up for many years .

For years, I've had a tube and fabric shelter similar to those in pictures above by Pootnic and 26aftcab454. We're in a snow belt area and keeping the snow off is critical. I'm on my third cover. They last 3 years max. Instructions stated not for winter use with snow loads, but that's what everyone around here needs. I didn't get to the snow cleared soon enough on my first top at about 3 years of age and it collapsed. It could have cost me a vintage windshield for my '72 Starcraft. It was a tough clean-up job with the boat filled with snow, torn fabric and bent tubes. Still, it's the best choice for me. Instead of erecting mine on the mickey-mouse plastic feed supplied, I drove pipes just smaller than the tubes into the ground at each vertical. It was easy to level on uneven ground and bolts through the driven tubes provide an anchor system at all points. - Grandad

I had one of these. It lasted about a year until the wind picked it up and blew it across the yard.
It was anchored with 24 inch pieces of rebar and railway ties. It was like a huge kite. The car inside suffered no damage though.

I work for a local company that makes steel buildings. They are the Q,S,A,P type. They are quite simple to put up in the narrow width/low heigth sizes ex 12'h x 12'w. You buy by the arch. Each arch you gain 24" of width. 20' boat buy 10 arches. Please do not confuse us with the carport industry. Buy some base plate to anchor to your exsisting concrete pad and you can have this standing in an afternoon with ease. 35 year warranty cant be beat. I dont want this to be a commercial so i am not giving the company name. But there are some really good deals going and with this economy, the metal building business is down 75% from previous years. Just make a few calls you may be supprised at the deal you can make. I DO NOT WORK IN SALES!

Sorry, Q model is sort of round looking (think quonset). S model- Straight sides, as high as 10' before bldg starts to curve. A model- Kind of an A shaped profile, P model Sort of like an A only straighter sides. If you search the net you can see some photos on web sites. I am not in sales and its your call, but do a little research and this could be another option for you on a more permenant basis. You can always add arches or take away arches as you boat sizes change LOL ( I'm on number 5). These are very strong, easy to put up, easy to take down. But in my experience you either love them or you hate them. Like any building as you add options, end walls, skylights, doors, the prices can go up. But as far as the basic arch package goes, its perfect for a boat shelter. Keep to the basics and you will love the protection it offers.
