Anyone use MetlWeld on aluminum leak?

I've been reading the forums listing JB Weld and 3M 5200 for repairs.

My 92 Tracker has 6-8 rivets that leak, as well as a 1 inch seam (all in the front of the boat). Welding was too risky due to fire.

I talked to someone at a boat hobbyist shop and they recommended using SystemThree's MetlWeld. Is anyone familiar with it?

Thanks.

cabela's makes an aluminum repair kit. it cost's about six bucks, and works great. go to www.cabelas.com. the part# is sr-01-0655. the actual cost is $6.99 (with out shipping charges)this is a little kit of i believe of 2-4 sticks that are melted into your hole or what ever by a standard propane tourch. i suggest that you drill out your loose/leaking rivets and use this product. i have a 1965 aluminum v-hull. i used this product and is has worked great. it comes with instructions on how to use it, and how to prep your work area for it.

I'd give 3M 5200 a go.
I had an oil cooler on my outboard that froze one winter and split a seam. I was ready to buy a replacement when the light clicked on in the old noggin.
I spread some 5200 along the seam and that did the trick.
If you want to do a really good job, dill out the old rivets and install the new rivets wet with 5200.

wouldn't Marine-Tex be preferable to 5200 in this application?

husker, I'm not familiar with that product you mentioned, but this stuff is great. I haven't tried it on aluminum but I tend to believe their claims.
