Have read with much interest the uses for PL Urethane adhesive. I am impressed enough to plan to use it to laminate the 2 3/4" plywood sheets for the transom.
Wood to wood I know this stuff STICKS!
How does it stick to other material? Fiberglass? Is is a suitable material to fasten a glassed (poly resin) deck to the glassed stringers? How about the mating of the deck to the hull along the edges? Will it be strong enough to attach the transom to the outershell?
The last question may be significant as the transom has to be "bent" back flat at the outdrive cutout. The concern that the jacking and measuring before the poly would set in 95 degree heat is probably not going to happen.
Using the PL for the transom installation would give me some working time and assure that the transom would end up flat again. The transom would then be glassed over and attached on the inside in a "normal" manner.
All thoughts and comments are appreciated.
