I am considering purchase of a Stingray 182SC or a Bayliner Element XL (E18). I can find all sorts of information on the Element through the Bayliner forum but cannot find anything on how actual owners like or dislike the Stingray 182SC, what the common issues are, etc. For example, on the Element, issues are water retention in the sponsons, cavitation in tight turns.
Does anyone have access to the Stingray owners forum that could do a search to help me obtain some information for my decision? Thanks.

I just did a quick search on the stingray forum and didn't come back with many hits on the 182sc. Only issue that anybody posted was that they had a hard time turning left in the boat, but that might not have been due to the boat but with the steering cables

Is there a reason you only want new? For the same money you could buy a really nice and upscale but older boat.

Anyway, my cousin has a stingray and he likes it. He doesn't have a 182 though. Are you also considering Glastron? I think they make a boat in that range

Thank you for looking at the Stingray forum.
Regarding the question about new versus used, I am looking at new for these reasons:
I am looking for a small deck boat (open seating), 19 foot and under to keep weight down for towing, to get good fuel efficiency on the boat, and to allow for storage in a garage.
I would prefer outboard power for the efficiency and ease of maintenance.
I have not seen many, if any, of these types of boats on the used market. If they were available, I would definitely be considering a used boat over new. Therefore I am looking at lower priced new boat brands.
I have looked at the Glaston website but don't see any open seating/deck boat style options.

i think that is a sharp boat and would like to get the same boat - i like how fast Stingrays can go with 115 hp due to hull design.

Yes you are right about the glastron. Never been on a deck boat...I've always like the idea of a windshield lol.
I think you are right, a deck boat that small will be hard to find as they are newish IMO. Good luck with your search! Have you seen the element or the stingray in person?
SkiDad is right, the Stingrays are pretty fast

What type of water bodies will
you be boating in?

I have seen both the Element XL and Stingray 182SC in person but have not been able to drive either of them. There are features in both that I like but overall the Stingray is nicer but also more expensive.
I would be boating in inland lakes, so protected waters in Tennessee, Kentucky, and Indiana.

Someone else asked this same question recently. A review of the specs showed that the 192 has the same hull, is also a deck boat, and has almost the same seat layout. The difference is that the 192 has a windshield. The lack of windshield would be a deal breaker for me, even in protected waters. An open cockpit severely limits your boating season.
