anything wrong in sanding the outdrive ?

hey gents !

i would like to give my outdrive (sx) a new shine with a full repaint. so the plan is to sand the old paint out until the drive is blank , the prime it and paint it. is there a danger for the drive when you sand it ?

Use aluminum oxide sand paper. No need to go to bare metal. Prime with zinc chromate and paint

but when it comes to sand i wanted to sand it via a sanding pistol and a compressor .
