need to find a pair of 14 or 15 foot control cables. i think it uses gen1 cables ?

Bow deck screwed down today. drilled hole for pedestal base. installed vexilar flasher hatches coming via fedex saturday

side stock?or was that added.i have a1981 when I look through ski locker hole I see stirafom prices.or is that the difference between 81 -- 85?and to bilge pumps are you thinking of it being a bad leaker nice to be safe.mine has just Manuel switched I though I was just going change it auto now I think I'll add auto to. Your boat is looking great,wishing you tight lines

i removed ski locker. they are water reservoirs

Factory foam was
1 under floor left and right side of center trough
2 hidden under gunwale 4”x4” strip
3 a 14” square block under left and right side of splashwell

Factory foam was dry so i kept it.....Added more foam under center floor. new foam it is all white ....
i removed the two blocks under splashwell. replaced one.


I had a few spare bilge pumps so i installed two. each one wired to own float switch and battery
I often leave boat at marine for weeks

You can do anything you want. Whatever floats your boat.

Build a box with a hinged top or drawer(s), secure box to deck, mount seat with or without swivel, done.

Mine are OE mounted on top of the tackle lockers on fixed height seat pedestals similar to these

You could cut the tube down or buy the pedestal (seat mount) and support tube separately

Rebuilding my 1985 SS 18'
New seating in in order

Trying to determine seat height vs windshield

12" height from floor to seat underside. puts my eyes at top of windshield

Thoughts on where eye level should be?

What was factory seat height and how measured?

Opinions and /or facts appreciated

Head banging how to use those two captains chairs i had in the barn. pedestals or seat boxes . Decided to split the storage box i made for starboard and use fit the helm chair also

Passenger gets a pedestal which needed trim using my harbor freight 9.99 grinder.

Made a cover for the starting battery box. and added a dollar store shower rack for the markers bouys

Water resistant OSB did you seal it anyway? Way cheaper than marine plywood at 75 a sheet.
