Workers Comp finally has approved my knee surgery. Took several hearings and pleading to them that my problem happened on the job. It took my boss going in to tell them that it did happen on the job. The main problem was that the attorneys that represent the company I work for kept fighting my case. Finally the owner told them that they want me fixed and to quit fighting it or they will get another law firm. BINGO, it then went through. Yep 6 months of walking and working on a bum knee and finally it will be fixed in February.

I'm getting tired of being call "Gimpie" :D

I didn't have any problems with my workers comp claim. Of course it wasn't much more than an x-ray and an ace bandage.

Thanks everyone (even for calling me Gimpie) Being Christmas and the grandkids wanting to wrestle around makes it rough. Part of the price of geting old as well I guess.

I asked Santa to move the woodburner upstairs so I wouldn't have to deal with the steps for while I was off. Instead, Santa had my fuel oil tank filled so I wouldn't need to deal with the wood and the steps. I truely have some great bosses that look after me. Hopefully they will feel the same way if I ever screw up. :D

Good for you. I finally got the state medical board after an appeal to approve me for retirement but the local system jumped the gun and tried to "fire" me first. The chit hit the fan big time after I got the letter from the state. I then contacted a school board member(friend of my wife) and asked "wups sup with dat" Believe me heads rolled and the guy that sent me the letter of dismissal ended up getting the can........long story short.Workers comp likes to play games also. congratulations!

Be careful. I had back surgery and when it came time for the final settlement I got over $100,000 and took home just over $15,000 after they made me pay back ALL the medical, lost wages they paid me and the lawer and taxes. When it was all said and done I got screwed, and my lawer let it happen. And this was workmans comp. Thought that was what the insurance was for so I wouldn't have to pay all that back. I knew a guy one time that got half his hand cut off at work and he let them talk him into not sueing for the promise of a job from now on and guess what. They layed him off 5 years later. Watch them, they smile to your face as they slide the knife in your back ever so slowly.....ANIMAL :D

Same problem here... It's called 'workers compensation board' in B.C. If you hurt yourself (or worse) they're like a team of lawyers working against you. They call it an insurance... but really, it's organized theft!
I twisted my wrist with a magnetiic drill press... it lost it's grip and I twisted me up pretty good. I was 'toast' for a while. I filed all the papers, went to the doctor... therapy... wrapped for weeks... still hurts now sometimes 5 years later. It's affected my drumming fer'!!!!!!!!!!!!
Claim denied... not a 'real' injury they said.
Don't make me swear!!!
