-Lot of folks round these parts with that much land lease out what they don't need to local farmers. Small, specialty crops in perticular. You'd make a few bucks & the farmers keep it "presentable". -all while you're fishin!

Gawsh, I hope you don't have a wife or kids. I used to live on a place like that. Notice I say "used to." Mom didn't like the 20 minute commute to and from school and and the main section of town with 4 kids of varying ages. The rest of us did. We had 7 dogs, chickens, our neighbor (3/4 mile away) had goats and horses. I loved it out there. Just as we moved out, I gained access to some of the farm ponds about 2 miles down the road. These ponds had some good bass too. I had 100s of acres of land that I could take the dog and a mountain bike and go roam. We had a few archery targets set about 50 yards, and 30 yards off the porch, so we could shoot under the cover in the rain, and retrieve arrows when it stopped raining. Shotgun shooting just over the mtn. Man, I loved it there.
Guess where I am going as soon as I get a chance. Yep, getting me some land, and a barn, and start aquiring some animals.

yeah, something tells me you are gonna really like it there. It don't matter how many old trucks/tractors/boats etc. Ain't nobody gonna care.

Get a 'dozer, make a big hill. Put a "double wide" trailer on top of the hill. Keep your fridge and a couch in the front yard. Yer pickup on blocks.

My government will think that is is unfair that you worked and bought that land. They will take it and divide it up and give it to illegal aliens so they have a place to live. Success is to be punished. Laziness rewarded.

I bought 36 acres of half wooded/half pasture 3 years ago. That payment was ok. Then the tractor payment came. Ya, its all good, I needed a tractor anyhow. Got get the fences in good shape for livestock so we can keep it ag exempt, its getting a little tight around here. Oh ya, ya need to build on it, ain't no sense in living 6 miles away from your pride and joy right? Now add all of those up and present it to someone who has had there house paid off and show them the new bill. RUN Z RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!
