I am ready to move the motor from the boat that the motor came with to the boat that I'm restoring and I only have my husband and myself to move it (the strong teenage boy went off to college this week :() Does anyone know the approx. weight of this motor so I can decide if it's something that we two can handle before we get it halfway and decide gravity is stronger than us? Thanks!

+1. If you each grab a side you should be fine. Lift with your legs and not your back and have a stand/transom ready to receive the motor, so y'all aren't stuck holding on to it while you simultaneously try to set up a stand. I was able to lift my old '66 33 hp on/off the transom alone, and I think it weighed about the same.

They are not overly heavy as mentioned, but are dead weight!

I keep 20 or so 50s Big Twins in my basement where I work on them, getting them down the stairs is a challenge by yourself, especially the long shafts. I have stubbed my toes on more than one occasion :) Wife wont let me install an elevator.

What's not to like about an outboard elevator? Sounds perfectly reasonable to me :)

If one can crank it with the pull starter, he or she can pretty much take it off the boat by themselves! :)
