AQ 120 B Stalls in gear

New boat to me, idles okay a little rough though, when I put it in gear it will move slowly then with increase in throttle it dies.
I think the fuel pump is good, I will test when I put a new filter in, the gas is orange looking, likely rust and if so water in tank??

Bad fuel. Disconnect the fuel line and run it on a portable tank to see if it cures the problem. You may be forced to clean out the carb also,and then re-adjust.
