aq 170/270 same ratio as a aq125/270?

i have a aq 125/270 and i need parts for the upper gear drive. i bought a aq170 ( 6 cyl) with a 270 outdrive and wondering if the ratio is the same?

Upper gearbox should be the similar. The gear ratio change is in the lower. But there are some minor differences in upper gearboxes. Depends what parts you're talking about but it may be better to measure, shim, and swap complete uppers.

i was going to use the 3 gears sliding sleeve and shifting lug
