Everything was working fine electrically. Then I left my ignition switch in the on position all night. Ir just happens the battery was on a charger all night too. And it was quite low the next morning.
Fully charged the battery,
And when I went to start the engine, all I got was a click. The voltage meter goes to zero and stays there even though the battery is fully charged.

Any ideas?

Ayuh,...... Remove, 'n Clean, to shiny metal, all of the connections 'tween the starter, 'n battery,......

Sounds like ya got some corrosion goin' on, probably in the ground circuit,.....

'n if yer motor has points ignition,.?..?...... Yer probably gonna need a new set,......

Callled a mechanic friend of mine. Told him what happened.
He told me my battery was fried.
I told him no. I put a volt meter on the battery and it read over 13 volts..
Charged it overnight .. Over 13 volts the next morning.
Tried to start it up. One clunk and all the gauges went haywire.
Battery still read 13 volts
Put the battery out of my car in and it started right up.
Pertronix ignition.

I could have spent a lot of time looking for that. Especially with my battery reading 13 volts on my ohm meter.
Owe my buddy a beer.! or 2..
