'83 aq125a/270. ok this may sound stupied:facepalm:,but not sure where the water flows out. i followed the tubeing and it looks like it flows through the exhaust manafold and out the foot exhaust, also it looks like i have 2 types of cooling systems, closed and free flow. pluse there is what looks like an air fitting on the tube that go's from the heat exchanger to the exhaust manafold and 1 on the engine block, and does this type of engine have an inturnel oil cooler becouse i dont c 1 on the outside. sorry but i still can't find mod# or ser#. TY 4 the input .

Re: aq125a/270 water flow and oil cooler

The aq125a doesn't have an oil cooler but the same year aq145 does. If you have one, you can see it mounted on the side of the block right next to the oil filter behind the heat exchanger.

The engine has a sealed cooling system that circulates coolant using a (automotive type) water pump and thermostat. The heat from the coolant is transferred to the seawater that is drawn in via the impeller to the heat exchanger and then out with the exhaust.
