Did you run the engine with the upper off and listen to it?

I just don't want you to get out on the water and have it fail on you.

Understood, ran her without the shaft on sounded fine, going to have to run her again this weekend now that the upper unit is attached. Definately not a smooth process putting her back together but she looks sound enough. I will let you konw how it goes this weekend. Solo trip not far off the dock, and I'm definately buying a small backup outboard.
