AQ205 ignition mudule and starting problems

Symptoms:
new engine block with 30 hours
- boat running fine
- anchored for an hour
- ran in gear at tickover for 45 min on river
- revs faltered, gave a touch more throttle
- revs climbed a little, struggled and died
- no re-start

Following day
- engine started fine
- in neutral to build revs
- struggled for about a 30 sec at 1500 rpm
- died
- no re-start at all

Possible verdicts?
- bad fuel...fresh full tank from reliable source already half used
- choke locked on...ruled out by engineer
- faulty ignition module...verdict from engineer (I trust him so do take his word for it)

Problem
- ignition module no longer supplied by Volvo Penta (pt 855706)
- advised may require complete new ignition setup at some expense

Anyone got any advice on...
Whether this part is still available in the UK
Whether an alternative supplier can be used (Engineer mentioned Mallory?)

If you are going to switch ignition systems, get a Delco EST Distributor for it.

Ouch! This is getting expensive. Thanks for the tip though...I shall pass it on if he gets stuck unlikely though it is. His partner has been working volvos for 20 years so should be in the know. It's only sourcing the module which they don't have an immediate solution on. One thing is puzzling me though...I have been looking at the manuals to see the part and cannot find any reference to it. I know the engine pretty well as built one from scratch (albeit it only worked a few hours before dying). Can you advise which part / a url to see one?

I see a picture of a coil. What else are we supposed to see in the picture?
