Does anyone know where they are located and what they look like. I'm going to start inhibiting it for the winter. This is my first time.

Thanks,

They are probably nothing more than brass pipe plugs at the base of the water jacket on each side of the block. Just above the pan, about mid in the block.
Remove the plug and use a small screw driver to clean out any crud that might be blocking the hole.

so the only plugs are on both sides of the block and at the rear of the manifolds?

Re: AQ231A Engine block cocks

You have to drain both sides of the block, and remove the large hose going to the engine circulation pump. You also have to drain the exhaust manifolds. Then you must drain the raw water pump, and hoses going to it, along with the power steering pump cooler.
Now, rather you have petcocks, pipe plugs, or remove hoses, that is something you have to look at and determine yourself. Engine should be level (the engine, not the boat) to drain the engine the best.
You need to think about what you are doing and why, and why there is water where there is, then you know without having to get a book or instructions on how and what has to be drained.

Re: AQ231A Engine block cocks

Ok I downloaded the owners manual for the AQ231A. It only says to disconnect the water hose by the transom cover and stick it in a bucket of water and run it with the thermostat removed. then to run it with a bucket of inhibiting glycol until the colored solution starts being discharged. Thats it. Do You guys suggest draining all the water first then running it with the inhibiting glycol? Seems like there's several ways to do this.
