3 years ago i bought this boat. I did the PDS bearing job along with new water neck gasket and new u-joints and bellows. Tonight I removed the transmission to replace the water neck gasket again. When i drained the trans/lower unit, nice clean oil came out so i was happy. BUT, when i removed the bellows, about 1/4 quart of that same clean oil came out! How did the trans/lower unit oil get into the bellows? I did overfill the trans when i did the PDS bearings 3 years ago but did end up draining it down.. I didnt see any blown seals or anything on the trans..
HELP!

The only way the outdrive oil can get in there is a bad seal around the input shaft
With the manual it is user fixable but you will need to read it through a couple times
If you have teh integral bearing box use the 290A section. If you have a separate bearing box use the 280 section.
My 275 has the integral bearing box and i don't know if they are all the same.

What do you mean by separate or integral bearing box? Do they not have a manual for the AQ275 drive? Also, i got a bone to pic with VP..They say the drive holds 2.7 quarts of motor oil.. Mine does not and thats how i ended up overfilling it before! I changed it out again today. 2.2 quarts puts it 3/4 up the flat on the dipstick, any more and it is overfilled..filling and checking with the drive all the way down..
