Re: AquaMax Inflatable

Standard cheap Asian import with no warranty stations. It's what we call a " throw a way" boat. If you get X amount of use out of it versus X purchase price it might be the boat for you. But, long term, its not going to be worth repairing in 5 years.

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

Out of this world technical ignorance to promote a 12" air mat sib, that's 3.65 mtr long with a 30 HP engine, the owner does not know what he's offering, perfect sib/engine combo for going straight to heaven or hospital at full throttle, will need to sit a sumo fighter on bow so as not to flip the sib, that combo is rated for max 18/20 HP. Has just missed correct information by 10 HP.

Seems there are mother factories in Asia that manufactures sibs for many brands, you can have yor name glued on them, just make yourself a nice and eye catching web page and start your own boating bussiness, good luck :D

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

Thanks for replying guys. I am looking for a boat that can take 6hp Tohasu outboard which i am going to get. I just want to have fun fishing in lakes and rivers, not go out to high sea. So far, i have found two decent brands Saturn and Zodiac. Could you guys recommend me some good ones in the range 11-13' and $1000-1200

Also, should i get a 15" or 20" shaft outboard?? Which is common?

Does this one fit in a sedan after deflate? 8)) Sorry, i never owned one before.

Saturn is the same generic PVC boat as the rest of the clones with the same pitfall (lack of warranty stations) and benefit(cheap). Zodiac is a PVC boat with warranty stations and an ad budget that would make you you think that is is better than it is. You buy a boat and then get an engine to match the boat. IE If the boat calls for a short shaft then that is the shaft length you need.

Ok, i narrowed the list down to Zodiac Zoom 310 Solid, Cadet 310 Solid, Cadet RIB 310. I am leaning toward the Cadet 310 Solid as it has more room. I need something foldable and hopefully transportable by my sedan. Will this work?

Zodiac is one of the top two boats in PVC. You could do worse. The Zoom version has little resale value as it is considered the bargain version of the cadet. The main thing with the Zodiac is that it does have warranty repair stations available in most markets.

The cadet is too expensive for me. I am not worried about the resale value, as long as it doesn't suck.
Do you know if it can fit a sedan deflated??????

Doesn't suck(that's actually a good way of putting it:)) and yes it should fit inside of anything I would call a sedan. The ZOOM is just the Cadet with different furniture on it. It's made in France just like the premium label.

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

Zodiac used to make a 310 mt. rib with collapsible folding transom, don't remember the name, it's a good alternative to the cadets or any other sib brand in that size, is kept inside a bag which could be transported in your car top, rides/cruises very well with small engines. Check price and if affordable, voila, there you have it.

With respect to the aquamax they state their pvc fabric as being 1200 decitex, the standard now a days is 1100 decitex, so this brand has a little plus, a slight better thicker fabric to standard.

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

The folding rib, http://www.internetoutboards.com/partdetail.asp?id=1045 is going to be even further out of his budget. Personally I don't put much value on the thickness of the fabric as I would be much more concerned about seam strength and the UV inhibitors(if any) in the fabric. Most of the failures that we see on the no name brands are seam related(three to five years) and general fabric failures(material loses polymers in four to six years). Of course someone will get a boat that was put together on a Wednesday, by someone who cares, when the weather was perfect, grade one materials being used and on a day when there was a visitor in the plant:) Unfortunately all of the Chi Com inflatable plants are far below accepted manufacturing standards as there is no foreign quality control over them. The Chinese are fully capable of building better...They just don't give a crap as the manufacturers do not direct distribute. They dump them off to wanna be dinky distributors around the world who stay in business for a few years, go belly up and then re open selling the same POS under a different label. Same thing as their outboard industry. It's the name of the week club and everyone is invited to ride the carousel. I did it my self:) I decided to bring in some under my own Atlas label years ago. I brought in ten boats and put them out as test boats. Three made it past a year. None made it past two. I abandoned that project:) I know they are better than that now. I also know that doubling that service life still makes them crap....For the most part. But, there is a place for crap in the market. If you know it's not going to last, but the price is right then have at one. I just hate to see quality boats denigrated in comparisons to these monkey copy boats because people don't understand the difference. I'm getting dizzy on the soapbox again.

No....The performance would be awful. It's the equlivant of using off road tires for city driving.

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

Better buy the MM 340 air deck, the 310 is small, don't need to be hypalon, the only difference with pvc is that holds much more sun is left outside as a marina or yacht tender all year long, kept at home will need pvc. The fabric thickness is basically same as with pvc, the thicker the hypalon fabric, the costier it becomes. Used to have a Quicksilver 340 pvc which was made by MM, sold it impecable after 10 years use. The more money you intend to invest, invest it on a nice engine, a 15 HP short shaft would be fine to power a 340 sib. Let us know what you finally decided.

Re: AquaMax Inflatable

I am thinking getting the 6HP Tohatsu as anything else is too heavy. I am moving around and i don't have a trailer. I just something can fit in...my car, not even a truck lol.

Should i buy an older version of 2005 or 2007 instead of the newest 2010? The difference in price is about $500+

This one is 2007, mean nearly 3 yr in storage, does that mean anything??

You are reffering to an old engine version, right ? If so they have not varied in years, so a 2005 should be same as 2010, that's for 2 strokes, if planning to buy a 4 strokes TG or Pvany should have the right answer. If it were a 2 strokes you could go for the 8 HP, same CC as the 6 HP
