Re: Aquatech 19' CC Bayboat Restoration Updates
May 23, 2010...
Ok, so this is version 8 of my console, and I think I am finally satisfied with the result. It's just the right width, length, and height.
The boat has a front hatch on the casting deck where the original 25 gallon tank was. Unfortunately, once that is in place, you can't access any of the space next to it. So, the new console has a seat in the front of it, and underneath is a 12 gallon tank. Lift the seat, which will be padded, to fill'er up. Two batteries in boxes will occupy the space under the console. Then there is a shelf half way up, which is for support of the structure, as well as putting stuff on.
I am beginning the long process of sand, sand, sand, fill, sand, caulk, then paint and many coats of poly acrylic. Maybe it will last a few years untill I upgrade to a better/bigger boat.
Hard to tell from the pictures, but from top to bottom, both front/back, and sides, there is a deviation of 2 inches inward. This makes it look a little more pleasing and not so boxy.
