I still go when I can. The price is around the 2.44 mark this am.<br />The 21'er with the 225 ProMax likes gas, but it don't seem any worse than the Marine Mag2 was, so to answer the ?, nope ain't slowed down any, just got a bigger boat.

I was hoping one of you guys would post that you were so disgusted about gas prices that you want to sell your new brand new 400hp Indimar Powered V-Drive CorrectCraft, Supra, Moomba, Maristar, Malibu, or Air Nautique wakeboard boat with all the goodies for about $7,500 or so just to get rid of it....

2.41 a gallon this am, think I might go fill up 2 or 3 vehicles, I feel a rise coming on for the weekend.

Goin out this weekend and if that hurricane in the gulf shuts down some of the oil pumpers then gas will rise a bunch again. Ah well still have to go fishing before it gets cold here. FIgure i wont fish for 3 months and that will save money. Only have 13gals in the boat anyway and only fill 6.5 when going out.

I stored my boat away since June and won't take it out until October. I do the opposite what others do. Its too darn hot going boating here in the desert during summer. It was over 120F a few weeks ago in Lake Mead/Colorado river. I don't see what kind of fun you have in such hot weather. When the wind blows at you. Its like you are breathing in a sauna. Hopeful the gas price will go down after the summer. Can't wait those cool nice breeze in the fall.

There were probably two times this summer that I decided NOT to go out for a cruise or take the kids tubing(that's a killer)because of the gas $$,however I have not noticed much less boating on the lake,but more grumbling at the fuel dock,$2.84 last time I fueled up.<br /><br />Kevin

I use my boat the same, '85 searay 255 amberjack w/ twin 3.8L v6's, although I dont fill her up anymore (150 gallon tank), i just put $100 in at a time, at $3 a gallon thats only about 33 gallon.....a boat is a luxury, maintenance and fuel costs are part of the equasion....if you cant afford the fuel, sell the boat

I think you will see a difference between the feelings of those that own 50HP versus those that own 200 HP engines. With gas pushing $3.40 at my marina, the guys with the 50's feel that they are only spending an extra $5 or $10 a trip while the guys with the 200's are spending a whole lot more per trip. I went out Sat. with a buddy who has a new 23' Key West WAC with a 250 Zuki 4 stroke. We only went out about 20 miles and used the engine sparingly while we were out there. When we got back to the marina, the tank took 34 gallons. At $3.40 a gallon, it cost over $100 to her up. He told me that he was sorry that he sold his 18' CC with a 90 HP.<br />Stalker

I have a 23 footer with a Yam 250 (about 2 mpg). At first I thought, no, price of gas doesn't matter. But last weekend was the LI Sound Bluefish Tournament and I definitely thought twice as to where I went and how far it was based on gas price. In the past gas never entered the picture. After reading all these posts, it appears (obviously) that the larger engines are really feeling it and the smaller ones don't. Maybe they'll come out with a hybrid boat engine!
