Are many OB motors with a suspicious cylinder or piston problem checked with a scope

Are many OB motors with suspicious cylinder or piston problems checked with scopes vs pulling the head? A friend used his scope to check the damage under my 1969, 15? Raycraft boat?s floor. The scope was neat and needed to inspect his Airplane's valves and piston (through the spark plug's hole) yearly to pass inspections. Is there any Chrysler motors on old 15? Raycraft boats Out There?
