You use the numbers off the q-jet to find the kit. The most likely case is they won't have it in stock and will have to order it.

As far as I know, the kit for a particular q-jet # should be the same regardless of where you get it. Part of that number indicates whether it's a marine carb.

I used to have a Mercruiser 470, and it had the Rochester carb. I just got a carb kit from a 1967 Chevy Impala with the 307 V-8.

Sometimes you can use auto carb kits.

Same motor, used a kit & float for a 78 Pontiac firebird and it works fine... Gaskets are gaskets, floats are floats...don't see any differences.

Check with NAPA. They usually carry stuff like that. I don't even bother going anyplace else because they don't carry it or give me a funny look when I tell them it is for a Mercruiser. NAPA part numbers are the same a sierra (I would guess they are the same) too so easy to look up stuff.

I just purchased a carb re-build kit from Autozone for my Rochester carb. The kit i got was #96-611 from GP Sorensen. The instructions in the lit list Mercruiser so i believe i am good to go. However the gasket that mates the carb to the intake manifold is considerably thicker than the one i removed. Just hope this this not pose a problem

Could be the old gasket is just old and compressed. Sometimes you see this with difference between old and new gaskets. Don't take my word for it though. As I have seen this but not regularly.

NO they have subtle differences, the accellerator pump the marine accellerator pump seals and does not allow fuel vapors to escape around the stem. The automotive will
