Are there two exhaust ports on a Chrysler 9.2?

Discount-Marine said that my Wizard is a rebadged Chrysler 9.2

I replaced the impeller although it was still pliable but the new impeller had half as many fins as the old one Like 6 to 12. It was a tight fit and I had to bend he fins slightly to make it fit, I assume this is not a problem.

How do I know if the water pump is working properly?

The water level in the barrel is about 2" above the cavitation plate, it appears the water pick up is below the cavitation plate.

It sounds like exhaust exits just above the prop, so what is the hole about 3/4" in diameter located about 12" above the exhaust? While running it in a barrel, I had some mist but no water coming out of the hole.

I rebuild the carb and noticed the roller that advances the timing plate is about 3/16" away from the plate and the locating mark. Should this be touching with the carb butterfly when closed?

When I set the power adjustment, does it have to be under load or can it be in neutral?

I rebuilt the fuel pump, the diaphram was shot.

The spark on one plug is not as hot as the other using a spark gap tool, they did jump about 3/8". Is this acceptable?

Thanks, SV

You might check with them on the impeller but they should know what they are doing My 1970 after market ser. manual; shows an impeller with 10 vanes.
Manual shows the 67 9.2 motor. My 89 aftermarket manual shows the same leg fo 9.9,10,12,12.9,15hp.Shows an 8 vane impeller.Sierra parts manual
shows only79-97 9.9 with 6 vanes.Sierra number 18-8903.(says replaces 47-436065-2).We know yours is older.
it's normal for the vanes to be compressed a little especially on one side.
Be sure you rotate the shaft in the correct direction so vanes are bent the right way.
When testing in a barrel you should have the barrel up against the clamp and filled to the brim.Water should come out of the hole.CAREFULLY feel the head.Should be too hot to hold your hand on but not so hot it burns you.
Isn't the roller you refer to the one that advances the throttle as the stator plate rotates.
Throttle should just bartely begin to open when the pickup mark is is in the center of the roller.
See how it runs but you should probably clean and adjust the points.you may want check for corrosion where wires go into the coils.

Re: Are there two exhaust ports on a Chrysler 9.2?

I will call them tomorrow and check the vane count.

Yes, the roller moves along the stator plate and it appears that it is out of adjustment due to a very thick carb gasket. I will replace it and adjust the roller to start cracking the butterfly when it reaches the mark.

I elevated my barrel and raised the water level and ran it for about thirty minutes. In gear, neutral and low (idle) rpm. I could leave my fingers on the head about 2-3 seconds but longer would be uncomfortable. I think the pump is working fine but will wait until Thursday to say for sure.

I need to clean the points but have not worked on them since 1975. What tool should I use to clean the contacts?

I will ask Discount Marine if they have points and may get coils too if they are reasonably priced.

Do you know the correct spark plug?

Thanks!

Discount-Marine (these people are somewhat rude on the phone) said that the impeller is a new model.

They said the coils are 120.00 each and points are 20.00 each...OUCH :(
