they are over it.<br /> the calcium deposits will prohibit there efectiveness. while they are not eroded they are no longer sacrificial anodes. wire brusing kills them faster. never use wire on an anode, if you need to clean them, recommended before each launch, use 60 grit paper or a stone on a dremel.<br /> you can attepmt a test with them installed with a multimeter ., merc makes a tool to test them in the water. if they dont dissapear they may be the wrong materiel. usually a few wet and dry cycles without proper cleaning render them useless and they become another block of metal along for the ride. did you check the anode on the propshaft bearing carrier? you may consult your dealer for your local area to see if a diffent material anode is nessasary for your application.
